1978 Apr. The Tritium Basic Science Center Establishment Committee was set up.
1980 Apr. Tritium Research Center (TRC) was established in Toyama University with 1 professor and 1 associate professor.
1981 Feb. Tritium handling was approved (5 Ci/day, 50 Ci/year).
1981 Mar. Building reconstruction was completed
1981 Apr. Tritium handling was started.
1981 Apr. Staff was enlarged (1 research associate and 1 technician)
1982 Nov. Laboratories were constructed in non-controlled area.
1984 Jan. Tritium handling capacity was enlarged (26 Ci/day, 505 Ci/year)
1985 Dec. Tritium removal system for experimental room was added.
1987 Apr. Tritium handling capacity was enlarged (36 Ci/day, 5000 Ci/year)
1988 Mar. An iron fire-resistant tritium safe box was added.
1990 Mar. TRC was abolished.
1990 Jun. Hydrogen Isotope Research Center (HRC) was established with 1 professor, 1 associate professor, 1 research associate, 1 technician and 1 guest professor.
1991 Mar. The secretariat of Hydrogen Research Committee of The Japan Institute Metals was established in HRC.
1995 Apr. Staff was enlarged (1 professor and 1 associate professor)
1996 Feb. Non-controlled area was reconstructed.
1996 Mar. 100Ci Tritium Handling System was equipped.
1996 Apr. The master course education in the Graduate School of science was started.
1996 Jul. The First "International Tritium Workshop on Present Status and Prospect of Tritium-Material Interaction Studies" was organized by HRC and held in Toyama University.
1997 Oct. Staff was enlarged (2 research assistants and 1 contact researcher)
1998 Apr. The doctor and master courses education in the Graduate School of Science and Technology was started.
1998 Jul. The external review was carried out for HRC as the first attempt in Toyama University.
1999 Mar. HRC was abolished.
1999 Apr. Hydrogen Isotope Research Center (HRC) with different Japanese name was established.
2000 Dec. Non-controlled area was reconstructed.
2001 Nov. The Second "International Tritium Workshop on Tritium-Material Interactions - Contamination and Decontamination -" was organized by HRC and held in Toyama.
2002 Dec. HRC and Bonch-Bruyevich University of Telecommunications signed agreements on academic exchange(5 years) and collaboration research(3 years).
2005 Jan. HRC and The Karlsruhe Tritium Laboratory (TLK) signed agreements on academic exchange(5 years) and collaboration research (3 years).
2005 May "Third International Workshop on Tritium-Material Interactions" was organized by HRC and held in Toyama.
2005 Sep. The agreement on collaboration research between HRC and Bonch-Bruyevich University of Telecommunications have been extended by about 2 years.
2006 Oct. The external review was carried out for HRC.
2007 Mar. University of Toyama and the National Institute for Fusion Science (NIFS) signed an agreement on cooperation and collaboration.
2007 Apr. HRC and Institute of Laser Engineering-Osaka University signed an agreement on cooperation and collaboration.
2007 Aug. HRC and Radiochemistry Research Laboratory -Shizuoka University signed an agreement on cooperation and collaboration.
2008 Jul. The ideal method of HRC was decided.
2009 Sep. "Fourth International Workshop on Tritium-Material Interactions" was organized by HRC and held in Toyama.
2009 Oct. HRC and The Karlsruhe Tritium Laboratory (TLK) signed an agreement on academic exchange.
2010 Apr. Earthquake resistant construction was completed.
2011 Jun HRC and Key Laboratory of Inorganic Coating Materials, Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences signed an agreement on academic exchange.
2012 May "4th Japan-China Workshop on Fusion-Related Tritium Science and Technology" was organized by HRC and held in Toyama.
2012 Dec. HRC and Kurchatov Institute signed an agreement on scientific technical collaboration.
2013 Sep. HRC and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) signed an agreement on Coodinated Research Program (CRP).
2014 Jun "12th International Workshop on Hydrogen Isotopes in Fusion Reactor Materials" was organized by HRC and held in Toyama.
2014 Jun University of Toyama and the National Institute for Fusion Science (NIFS) signed an agreement on cooperation and collaboration.
